Spring cleaning tips:
Stove: Frequent self cleans will prevent yellow staining or discolorations on white ranges
Dishwasher: Have a look inside. Is your dishwasher dirty? if so, wipe out the heavy soils, and run it without dishes to give it a chance to clean itself. A dirty dishwasher will only try to clean your dishes with dirty water!
Fridge: Clean those black coils (called a condenser). Pet hair and dust often collect on these, and trap heat. This causes your fridge work harder. These coils are fund underneath the fridge on new models, and on the backs of old ones.
Washer: Most front load washers have a drain trap on them. Some are even accessible without removing any panels or moving the machine. Remove and clean the drain trap. You may find hair pins, wires, paper clips, and if you're lucky, money! Removing these items from the trap will prevent premature wear on the pump.
Dryer: always, after every load, clean your lint screen. Every once in a while, check the vent on the side of your house for any blockages.
